Water main cleaning project scheduled to begin August 24
PLAINVILLE, Conn. – August 19, 2026 – Aquarion Water Authority today announced a water main cleaning project for its Plainville Regional System. The project, scheduled to run from Monday, August 24, through Friday, November 6, will ensure customers in Plainville continue to receive the highest quality water.
During the eleven-week project, while Aquarion is working in the area, customers may experience temporary low water pressure, brief periods of no water, and discolored water. The discoloration results from a temporary disturbance in water flow, which stirs up naturally occurring minerals that settle in water mains.
Aquarion recommends that customers, if the water is discolored, run a cold-water faucet until the water runs clear before resuming normal use. Customers should also wait to do the laundry until the water is completely clear.
The first week’s cleaning schedule will take place from 8 AM to 3 PM on the following streets:
Ashford Rd, Ben Ct, Betsy Rd, Birch Tree Rd, Cassidy Dr, Corporate Ave, Dogwood Rd, Eastwood Dr, Farmington Ave, Farmington Valley Dr, Farmstead Ln, Fawn Dr, Hardwood Rd, Hollis Ln, Ivy Rd, Mel Rd, Nod Rd, Northampton Ln, Northwest Dr, Pine Meadows, Pine Way, Pinnacle Rd, Plum Tree Rd, Reliance Rd, Sachem Rd, Tow Path Ln, Wheeler Ln, and Woodside Ln
