Water Treatment Improvement Project Scheduled to Start August 3, 2026
MANSFIELD, Conn. – July 27, 2026 – Aquarion Water Authority continues to perform essential water infrastructure improvements in Mansfield to ensure continued system reliability and maintain high water quality standards.
On August 3, Aquarion will start construction at its wellfield treatment facility located at 32 Mary Belle Drive in the Valley View Complex. The project is designed to enhance water quality through the addition of a new prefabricated building that will house pH adjustment and corrosion inhibitor treatment equipment, expanding the facility's treatment capabilities. The project is expected to be completed by November 2026.
"We greatly appreciate residents' patience as we complete this important project," said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion's Manager of Project Delivery, Engineering and Planning. "We will work closely with our customers, neighbors, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions during construction."
Construction activities will generally occur between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Portland-based Snyder Civil Construction, LLC will serve as the general contractor for the project. The work is expected to have little to no impact on traffic in the area.
